Odisha NEET UG Counselling 2022 MBBS seats in Odisha

The registration process for Odisha NEET UG counselling 2022 is around the corner. The medical counselling committee has already started the registration process for All India Quota from 10th October, and the state counselling is all set to be held from 17th October.

This state counselling will be conducted for 85% of state Quota seats of MBBS/BDS offered by government and private medical colleges in India. After the counselling process, a provisional merit list will be released by the official authority based on the rank and choice filled by the candidates.

NEET UG Counselling 2022 is held by the Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET). The entire process is online thus candidates who are going to participate in the NEET counselling 2022 are required to upload their important documents online. After the First and second rounds, candidates will be eligible for the Mop-up round and they can take the seats left in the two rounds that are not allotted to anyone.

Eligibility Criteria for Odisha NEET UG Counselling 2022

The Medical aspirants who belong to Gen/EWS (Economically Weaker Section) category are required to score 50 percentile and the candidates who belong to OBC/SC/ST category are required to score 40 percentile in the NEET UG Exam.

NEET UG 2022 counselling process is divided into 3 rounds:

Round 1 –  It is conducted online mode and all government/private/deemed medical universities’ seats can be filled in this step. 

Round 2 –  It is also an online mode and here also all government/private/deemed medical universities’ seats are filled in this step. This round is almost similar to the first round but with a little difference. Basically remaining vacancies in the first round are carried forward to this round.

Mop-up round: It is also conducted in online mode. It is about filling unfilled seats in NEET counselling during round 1 and round 2 steps. A student automatically becomes eligible for this round when he/she doesn’t get a seat in round 1&2. The mop round is a step in which state-by-state counselling for medical seats takes place.

Odisha NEET 2022 Counselling Document Verification

All medical aspirants must carry the required documents for the verification process. If any candidate is found ineligible to show the documents at the time of verification, his/her candidature may be disqualified. The list of documents is mentioned below: 

  • Allotment Letter issued by MCC
  • Admit Cards of Exams issued by NTA.
  • Result/ Rank letter issued by NTA.
  • Date of Birth Certificate (in case DOB is not mentioned in the metric certificate)
  • Class 10th Certificate
  • Class 10+2 Certificate
  • Class 10+2 Marks Sheet
  • Domicile Certificate
  • Transfer certificate

  • For NRI/ OCI candidates appearing for Deemed Universities documents mandatory are a Passport copy of the candidate,  embassy certificate, Sponsorship affidavit (stating that sponsor is ready to bear the expenses for the whole duration of the study), Relationship Affidavit (Relation of Candidate with the sponsorer)

What if you do not get any MBBS seats in NEET UG state counselling 2022?

Generally, candidates think that they only have one option i.e taking a drop to prepare for another year. And we know it is very tough to study the same syllabus again. Also, there is no surety that they would get a seat on their next attempt.
