Ain Shams University is a public university which is known for its decades-old medical education curriculum. It was established in 1948 and is located in the capital city of Egypt, Cairo. The university was constructed on the site of the former royal house — The Zaafarana Palace which was named after its surroundings. In the Arabic language, the meaning of Zaafarana is saffron.
Ain Shams University is also known as Ibrahim Pasha University and it is the third most established non-partisan local Egyptian College.
