Lviv National Medical University was established in 1784 and is situated in Lviv city of Ukraine. Having more than 237 years of legacy, it is one of the oldest and largest medical institutes of Ukraine which is spread in around 10 hectares of area. The university was earlier known as  Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University on the name of the first king of Halychyna-Ukraine.

In 1939, the university was renamed and known as Lviv State Medical University with the faculties of general medicine and pharmacy. LNMU started offering medical education for international students in 1961, since then thousands of students from Asia, Europe, America, Africa have passed out from here and are doing well in their careers. It received the 4th level of accreditation in 1996 and got recognition by the ministry of education and science, Ukraine. In the year 2003, the institute received the status of a National University.

In the present scenario, approx 1000 international students enroll themselves in undergraduate or postgraduate programs. The university campus is equipped with all the latest technology and tools used in the medical field and is required to provide world-class medical education to students. The university has 78 departments, 14 educational buildings for dental, industrial pharmacy, training simulation center, laboratory, and scientific library. The total air distance from Delhi international airport to Lviv international airport is 4991 Km.
