Taras Schevchenko National University

Taras Schevchenko National University which is also known as KNU was established in 1834, and found in the capital city of Ukraine, Kyiv.
The university is universally acknowledged as the most admired university of Ukraine, and the largest national higher education institution.
It is the third oldest university in Ukraine after the University of Lvivand University of Kharkiv.
It has level IV accreditation from the ministry of education & science of Ukraine which is the highest level a university can attain for teaching.
Today the University has consensual partnership agreements with 227 foreign educational and scientific institutions from 57 countries.
Every year 1500+ lecturers, researchers and students travel abroad to 59 countries
In its long history the university had some notable former students, such as Petro Poroshenko, who became Ukrainian president in 2014; former United Nations president Hennadiy Udovenko; and world-renowned boxing brothers Wladimir and Vitaly Klitschko.
The staff of the University has a broad range of formal achievements which includes the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology, Awards from the National Academy of Science of Ukraine and branches of the national academies of science.
The university comprises of 13 faculties, eight institutes, one research Centre and two colleges.
The university constantly revise their curricula and introduce new programs.
Currently, the number of foreign students enrolled at the University is 935.

Ranking

Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv ranked in the top 421-430 brackets in QS World University Rankings.
In 2009, Delovoymagazine ranked the University as the best university in Ukraine, being nationally the strongest in the greatest number of academic fields.
According to the independent ranking of 228 universities in Ukraine performed by Compas, the University was ranked the first best position in Ukraine regarding the adequacy of alumni to the labor market of Ukraine.
The university features in the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities(2010) at 1,346 out of 8,000 in the world and 63 out of top 100 universities of the Central and Eastern Europe and a leading academic institution in Ukraine
