Tamil Nadu NEET Counselling | Medical Colleges and MBBS seats in Tamil Nadu

Medical counselling commission has announced the date of Tamil Nadu NEET UG counselling 2022. The registration process has started from 22 September 2022 and it will be closed by 03 October 2022 up to 5:00 PM . Candidates can see the notification on the official website of Tamil Nadu Directorate of Medical Education (DME) https://tnmedicalselection.net

While registering for NEET state counselling 2022, students have to fill the preference of colleges and lock their options wisely because it can not be modified later. The counselling will be conducted for 85% of the medical seats in Indian medical colleges in various states. There will be a fixed charge for general and reserved category candidates.

The NEET state counselling 2022 will be based on the acquired NEET score by the candidates. There will be 3 rounds of this counselling first round, the second round and the mop-up round. In the Mop-up round, the remaining seats of previous games will be filled and then the merit list will be published on the official website.  The NEET UG counselling for Tamil Nadu state will take place for 10875 seats of 71 medical institutes.

Eligibility criteria for Tamil Nadu NEET UG Counselling 2022

Below is the eligibility criteria for students

The Medical aspirants who belong to Gen/EWS (Economically Weaker Section) category are required to score 50 percentile and the candidates who belong to OBC/SC/ST category are required to score 40 percentile in the NEET UG Exam.

If we talk particularly for the year 2022, the marks needed to become eligible are as follows:

NEET UG 2022 counselling process is divided into 3 rounds:

Round 1 –  It is conducted in online mode and all government/private/deemed medical universities’ seats can be filled in this step. 

Round 2 –  It is also an online mode and here also all government/private/deemed medical universities’ seats are filled in this step. This round is almost similar to the first round but with a little difference. Basically remaining vacancies in the first round are carried forward to this round.

Mop-up round: It is also conducted in online mode. It is about filling unfilled seats in NEET counselling during round 1 and round 2 steps. A student automatically becomes eligible for this round when he/she doesn’t get a seat in round 1&2. The mop round is a step in which state-by-state counselling for medical seats takes place.

Tamil Nadu NEET 2022 Counselling Document Verification

All medical aspirants have to carry the required documents for the verification process. If any candidate is found ineligible to show the documents at the time of verification, his/her candidature may be disqualified. The list of documents is mentioned below: 

• Allotment Letter issued by MCC
• Admit Cards of Exams issued by NTA.
• Result/ Rank letter issued by NTA.
• Date of Birth Certificate (in case DOB is not mentioned in the metric certificate)
• Class 10th Certificate
• Class 10+2 Certificate
• Class 10+2 Marks Sheet
• Domicile Certificate
• Transfer certificate 
• Character certificate
• Migration letter
• Fee payment receipt
• Eight Passport size photographs are the same as affixed on the application form.
• Proof of identity (Aadhar/ PAN/ Driving License/ Passport)
• The Candidate should also bring these certificates, if applicable: SC / ST Certificate, OBC certificate, Disability Certificate, EWS Certificate. These certificates should not be older than 6 months.
• Gap certificate
• For NRI/ OCI candidates appearing for Deemed Universities documents mandatory are a Passport copy of the sponsored,  embassy certificate, Sponsorship affidavit (stating that sponsor is ready to bear the expenses for the whole duration of the study), Relationship Affidavit (Relation of Candidate with the sponsorer)

MCC conducts the NEET UG counselling to fill all India quota seats and state level seat in two rounds followed by a mop-up round. The simple steps for registration are mentioned below:

1. Registration with all necessary details and generate password

• Visit the official website (https://cetcell.net/)
• Click on the “New Registration” Tab 
• Put your Roll Number, Application number and candidate name and all the required details.
• Set your pin as per your admit card

2. Login 

• Use this credential for NEET counselling registration
• Now you will be shown your details as per the NTA database
• Verify all the information and click on confirm registration
