Changes In NEET-UG 2022 Exam

Recently NTA (National Testing Agency) released a notification for the  NEET-UG 2022 exam application process. This year students will face a lot of changes in the NEET exam, from an increase in the time duration to a rise in the number of exam centres in foreign countries and the removal of the upper age criteria and many more.

Education experts believe that the NEET aspirants may witness huge competition this year. This NEET exam 2022 would be in the favor of those students who could not clear medical entrance in their first attempt or who had moved for online education due to the Covid Pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war.

Time Duration

Getting extra time will be a game-changer for NEET aspirants, especially for those students who are preparing with the mindset of 3 hours. The mock test they will be practising for a year must be based on a 3 hours pattern in which students would have to solve 180 questions. Additional 20 minutes will surely benefit those students. They can even improvise their strategies for the exam and can devote some extra minutes to the weaker section.

Upper Age Limit 

Before some days, NTA released a notification regarding the removal of the upper age limit for NEET aspirants. It was 25 years for general candidates and 30 years for the reserved categories. But now onward there are no upper age limit criteria for NEET aspirants.

Increase In Application Fee

Another change in NEET-UG 2022 exam is an increase in the application fee. There is a slight increment in the application fee based on categories:

New Exam cities

NTA has added new cities for NEET-UG 2022. This year, the exam will be held in 543 cities across India and 14 exam centres outside India. The countries for exam centres are — United Arab Emirates (UAE), Thailand, Sri Lanka, Qatar, Nepal, Malaysia, Kuwait, Nigeria, Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore.
