What is NEET Exam?

NEET stands for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. It is a medical entrance exam in India for all the students who are aspiring to become a doctor. Earlier this entrance exam was conducted by CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) but since 2019, it is being conducted by the NTA (National Test Agency).

The NEET exam is the first step of your journey to becoming a doctor. This Exam is for those students who want to do graduation or post-graduation in the Medical stream. If a student qualifies for the NEET Examination, he/she will be eligible to take admission in the top government or private colleges in India.

Why is NEET Important for MBBS?

NEET is important because it is the only medical exam conducted in India. Earlier, a medical aspirant had to appear in different medical exams because all the medical universities or colleges used to conduct their own exam. This process used to take a lot of time and students also had to go through a complex admission process. NEET has replaced the examinations like AIIMS, JIPMER, etc.

The introduction of NEET in India to select medical aspirants comes with various benefits, it offers equal opportunity to the students, saves time and money for both the students and medical colleges as well, it helps to keep transparency in medical admission. The NEET entrance exam also gives an opportunity to Study MBBS Abroad.
